The Tryon Tourism Board is pleased to announce that they will be re-opening the local Visitor’s Center. Located at Town Hall, the center has been closed for some time since the loss of several loyal volunteers.

“We are seeking individuals interested in volunteering to work a one and a half hour shift on Friday and Saturday between the hours of 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and on Sunday between the hours of 12-3 p.m.,” according to Visitor Center coordinator Anne Day. Volunteers will have a short training session on what is entailed in the daily operation.

There will be plenty of information about historic Tryon Village available including walking tour maps, brochures from local businesses, and menus from Tryon restaurants. There is a computer on site for public research. Future plans include having items for sale that relate to Tryon.

The hope is to get the center open as soon as possible so we don’t miss the summer season. A grand re-opening is planned for early fall. All interested parties should direct inquiries to Anne Day at afdtourism@outlook.com or Meg Rogers at Town Hall, 828-859-6655.
