Frances Elaine Conia

Frances Elaine Conia, 78, of 110 Country View Lane, Mill Spring, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2016 at the Earl B. Hadlow Center Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla.

She was the daughter of the late William Lee and Thelma Frances Horner. She was preceded in death by her brother William Lee Horner, Jr.  She is survived by one brother, James C. Horner and wife Betty of Cedar Grove, N.C. and one sister, Carroll Hyder and  husband Dean Byrd of Hendersonville, N.C.

She is also survived by her four children: Teressa and Jeff Ballard of Mill Spring, N.C., Pat and David Park of Hillsboro, N.C., Jennifer and Matt Barker of Gastonia, N.C., and Jefferey Fornabai and Cassandra Cornioli of Fleming Island, Fla.

She was graduated from Aaycock High School in Cedar Grove, N.C. in 1955 and then pursued a career in nursing. She was an LPN nurse and worked at Rutherfordton Hospital for 20 years before retiring to Mill Spring. She spent her retirement years gardening, sewing, and working puzzles.  She also enjoyed the pleasures of visiting with her large family which included 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. June 4 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church in Mill Spring N.C. The family would love for flowers to be at the service because they always brightened up her life, but also in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice at 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville FL 32257.
