Theodore King, WWII veteran, 100, of Tryon passed away quietly Monday, May 9, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cora Lena Mills King; parents Frank and Hattie King; six sisters, Marie, Ella Mae, Dovie, Mattie, Ruth and Sarah; and two brothers, Joseph and John. He is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn Bryan (Walter) of Columbus, Jacqueline Robinson (Stanley) of the home, and Anita Truitt (Nathaniel) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, James King (Jacqueline) of Asheville and David King of Atlanta ,Ga.; five grand children, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Theodore spent his working career in Tryon at Oak Hall Hotel and the Lake Lanier Tea House.

Services will be Saturday, May 14, 2016. Visitation begins at 1 p.m., funeral at 2 p.m. at Garrison Chapel Baptist Church, Markham Road, and interment immediately following at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
