Bright’s Creek Golf & Sporting Club recently hosted a group of 58 first grade students from Tryon Elementary School for a fun and exciting field trip focusing on nature, horses and golf. The day’s activities included a visit to the equestrian center, where the children learned about different breeds of horses, facial markings, sizing, how each horse is different, barn life and how to care for the horses; a lesson in golf, where they learned on a four hole putt-putt course; and a scavenger hunt and hike to a nearby waterfall where they saw a salamander and identified many trees and plants.
