Arnold Wilson

Arnold Wilson, 67, of Mill Spring, N.C. went home to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, May 5, 2016 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.

A native of Polk County, N.C. he was the son of Lorean Williams Wilson of Mill Spring, N.C. and the late John R. Wilson. He proudly served in the US Army. Arnold was strong in his faith. He served as a former deacon at Coopers Gap Baptist Church and was a faithful member of Emannuel Baptist Church. He worked alongside his son, Brian Wilson, at Wilson Logging since 1994. In his free time, he loved playing the guitar and singing at church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie Ruff Wilson, who passed away in 2005.

Surviving is his wife of seven years, Patsy Morris Burnett Wilson; his mother, Lorean Williams Wilson of Mill Spring, N.C.; two sons, Kevin Wilson (Rhonda) of Estill, S.C., and Rev. Brian Wilson (Julie) of Mill Spring, N.C.; one daughter, Kimberly Calvert (Randall) of Mill Spring, N.C.; and four step sons, William Burnett of Mill Spring, N.C., Jeremy Burnett (Nicole) of Hendersonville, N.C., Justus Burnett of Mill Spring, N.C., and Montgomery Burnett of Mill Spring, N.C.

Also surviving are two brothers, Roger Wilson (Nancy) of Fripp Island S.C., and Steve Wilson (Yvonne) of Hampton, S.C.; one sister, Imogene Thompson (Jimmy) of Boiling Springs, S.C.; and 11 grandchildren, Kelly and Dustin Calvert, Christopher (Hannah), Joseph, and Annie Grace Wilson, Courtney, Austin, and Lauren Wilson and Callie Burnett,  Carson Burnett, and Jarrett Burnett.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Coopers Gap Baptist Church in Mill Spring, N.C. Burial will follow in the Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
