Earl Edward Schoeppner

Earl Edward Schoeppner, 90, of Columbus, N.C. passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 surrounded by his family at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, S.C.

Earl was born to the late Clarence and Estella Noll Schoeppner, and was raised in Harriettsville, Ohio. He enjoyed working on the family farm alongside his mother. He was later drafted into WWII and then continued to volunteer his services as a dentist for the Korean War. Prior to service he met the love of his life, Joan, and spent the next 69 years being a dedicated and loving husband. Earl had many talents and gifts and strived to be a perfectionist at everything he did including his dental practice, gardening, golf, and family. He was strong in his Catholic faith and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon, N.C.

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Joan Hane Schoeppner and five children, Susan (Bob) Esty of Maryland, Stephen (Lori) Schoeppner of Ohio, Mark (Colleen) Schoeppner of California, and Barbra (Jim) Gerhard of Columbus, N.C.

Earl was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen L. Andrews, and a brother, Dale Schoeppner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tryon, N.C.
