Confused about the Medicare system? Do you wonder about the Medicare A and B and D and what happened to C? With Medicare Advantage and Medigap supplements and ads on the television, it is easy to lose your way.

Have no fear, help is here! On Thursday, May 5, you will have two opportunities to learn all you need to know. The Meeting Place Senior Center, together with the North Carolina Department of Insurance Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will present sessions at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to guide you through the maze of information about Medicare.

The “Welcome to Medicare” class is designed to explain the various parts of the Medicare system for those who are new beneficiaries without commercial interruption.

It is also a good reference for those who are already using Medicare but have questions about the best way to receive benefits. It is also helpful for children of beneficiaries who are assisting parents with their healthcare.
