In observance of Child Abuse Awareness Month, Steps to HOPE, along with several other service organizations, participated in the Child Safety Field Day at Bi-Lo in Columbus on Thursday, April 28 with a superhero theme. Children were treated to a game of Hulk Smash, superhero themed goodies such as lollipops with superhero capes, bubbles, and stickers, along with pamphlets for family safety and a quick safety plan guide. Wonder Woman was Paula Childers, PR and publicity; Bat Girl was Heather Cash, community outreach; and Jessica Powell, client services, was Captain America. Steps to HOPE is Polk County’s domestic violence and sexual assault treatment and prevention center. If you or someone you know is being abused, please speak up! Call the Steps to HOPE hotline at 828-894-2340. (Photo submitted by Paula Childers)
