Opening Thursday night, April 28, at 8 p.m. at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop, is the dazzlingly funny “Calendar Girls,” the most popular play out of England in decades! Meet the good folk of the Village of Knapeley, Yorkshire, ladies of the WI (Women’s Institute), a couple of husbands, the posh wife of the local major landowner, a woman who lectures on rather strange things, a photographer, a beautician, and a TV ad guy. The play is based on a real group of women who set out to raise money to replace the man-eating settee in the waiting room of the local cancer hospital, and end up becoming a worldwide phenomenon!
