Armenda Sue Stemen

Armenda Sue Stemen, 72, of Mill Spring, N.C. passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, N.C. on Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Born in Charleston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Rosie Kessinger. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Gene Samuel Stemen in 2009. Armenda retired from Spartanburg Steel after many years of service. She was a faithful member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.  In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Armenda is survived by one son, Brian Hunter (Rachel) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Carla Moore (David) of Fountain Inn, S.C., Jaime Jackson (Chris) of Mill Spring, N.C.; and her grandchildren, Brittany, Morgan, Chasity, Shaun, Austin, Chase, and Miya. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Foothills Humane Society, P.O. Box 126, Tryon, NC 28782.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Cane Creek Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Ansel Pace officiating.
