Polk County District Court results for April 13

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, with Judge David K. Fox presiding, 65 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Ernest William Bruce was convicted of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance. Bruce was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Dawn Michelle Eastham was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Eastham was sentenced to two years unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $200 fine and court costs.

Jared Gannon Gazell was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Gazell was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Preetish Kakkar was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Kakkar was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $99 fine and court costs.

Dea Ann O’Shields was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. O’Shields was fined $25 and court costs.

Barry Demetri Sarratt was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Sarratt was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Jim Bob Wilson II was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Wilson was to pay court costs.
