Volunteers are the heart of the festival

Allison Gillespie, volunteer chair of the Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival, put out this “Call for Volunteers” for the 2016 event which will be held on Fri. and Sat., June 10 and 11, at Harmon Field in Tryon, N.C.

“We need fun-seeking, energetic people of all ages. We need you, your family and your friends to come join us. Work one or more 4.5 hour shifts—either morning, midday or evening.”

Gillespie added that the role of the volunteer is the most valuable asset to the festival. “We can’t make it without you,” she said.

The Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival is presented each year by the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce. It opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 11 p.m. each day and features (in addition to delicious championship barbecue and all the trimmings) music on two stages, rides and games for kids of all ages, a juried craft fair and, on Saturday only, a 200-car Classic Car Show and the grand finale spectacular fireworks show.
