Donna Lutz Bayard entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2016 following a brief illness.

She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Donna was born in Chicago, Ill. on June 12, 1930, growing up in Park Ridge, Ill. She attended Maine High School and worked for Northern Trust Bank. Donna married Walter L. Bayard, MD, a widower with two young sons, on February 16, 1953.

In 1962, they made the decision to move from Park Ridge to Tryon, N.C., a wonderful place to raise their family of five sons and one daughter. She was devoted to her children, spending the time teaching them the lessons and values necessary for success in life. Donna was also heavily involved in all of their activities, whether it be school, sports, horseback riding or family vacations.
