On March 30 at 10:15 a.m. John Vining will lead the first of four guided wildflower walks at Pearson’s Falls. Vining is a horticultural expert in our county and retired in 2015 from the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service. The hikes are sponsored by the Tryon Garden Club.

The new spring ephemerals are bursting out at Pearson’s Falls and Glen. Vining will help us identify ferns, sweet birch, wild raspberry, trillium, bloodroot, toothwort, and jack-in-the-pulpit to name a few of the plants now growing.

Come join the hike to Pearson’s Falls and enjoy the sunny spring weather. The talk will begin at the Garden House at 10:15 a.m. Bring pencil and paper, light jacket, and water and lunch if desired. In case of rain, the hike will be held at 10:15 on April 6.

There is a fee for the walk.

Pearson’s Falls is located at 2748 Pearson’s Falls Rd, Saluda, N.C. Call the gatehouse at 828-749-3031 to register and for information. For schedules of spring events visit pearsonsfalls.org.
