Michele Burns Fowler

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 Michele Leigh Burns Fowler passed from this life into the arms of her dear Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was an incredible wife to Jason, and his waistline attests to how well she took care of him. She could flat-out make a biscuit. She was also a fantastic mother to Russell, and she loved him with her all.
She was a graduate of Converse College (B.A.) and the University of South Carolina Upstate (M.A.) She was a teacher for 19 years, having taught at Ewing Middle School (Gaffney, S.C.), Dorman High School (Spartanburg, S.C.), Whitefield Academy (Louisville, Ky.), Christian Academy English Station (Louisville, Ky.), and Old Stone Christian Academy (Youngsville, N.C.)
She was a member of Open Door Church in Raleigh, N.C., and a former member of First Baptist Church Fairdale, Ky.
She is survived by her husband Jason, her son, Russell, her mother and father, Stanley and Cathy Burns, her sister Niki Jones (Scott), her nephew, Bryson Jones, and her nieces, Brooklyn Jones, Jasmine Escalante, and Layla and Amelia Jennings.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Powell and Rev. Josh Greene. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her parents, Stanley and Cathy Burns, 403 Campbell Ave., Landrum, and at the home of JoAnn and Chet Reid, 201 Lake Road, Landrum.
