Get ready! Super Saturday returns

Get your superhero costumes ready and hang onto your hats! Super Saturday is just around the corner! The 38th annual Children’s Theater Festival Super Saturday returns to Tryon on March 19.
This much-beloved tradition promises to be another day of fabulous family fun on Melrose Avenue. Past favorites like ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger and juggler extraordinaire Marcus Monroe will be returning.
New-to-Tryon acts range from the puppets of All Hand Productions to Los Angeles choreographers and dancers to the African beats of The Healing Force. And that’s just for starters.
As always, there will be ongoing activities on Melrose Avenue such as Joshua Grubb’s caricatures and the chalk art of Lee Mobley. And really, what would Super Saturday be without Mr. Cheng and his fantastic paper art creations?
You’ll also be able to enjoy local performers on the Community Stage in the TFAC amphitheater and support local school and church groups by purchasing lunch at the food court. And start thinking about what kind of super hero you’d like to portray in the Super Saturday parade down Melrose.
Turner/Tennant Foundation, Inc. is the presenting sponsor of Super Saturday. Funding for Super Saturday is also provided by the Mary F. Kessler Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation.
Watch for more information about performers and events in the next few weeks. The Super Saturday box office opens at Tryon Fine Arts Center on March 9. You can also follow us on Facebook and visit tryonsupersaturday.com. And be sure to mark your calendar today for March 19.
