A barn was totally destroyed from a fire that occurred in a Lake Adger subdivision Sunday night, Feb. 14.

Sunny View Fire and Rescue, the Mill Spring Fire Department and the Columbus Fire Department responded to the fire.

Tyler Searcy, Mill Spring Fire Department’s assistant chief, said his department was dispatched around 8:35 p.m. Sunday. The fire occurred at a residence off Green Hills Road in Mill Spring. The barn was used for storage but was large.

The Lake Lure Fire Department was on standby for the Sunny View Fire Department and the Tryon Fire Department provided standby for the Columbus Fire Department while firefighters fought the fire.

There has been no determination as to what started the fire.
