Nannie Sue Skipper

Nannie Sue Skipper, 86, of Columbus, N.C. passed away, Saturday evening, Feb. 6, 2016 peacefully at her home.

Born in Polk County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Mae Burnett and T.B. Odel. Mrs. Skipper was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She loved and cherished her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Jackson, I.V. Dyer and Margie Huggins; two brothers, Albert and Claude Odel.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Ray Skipper; one son, Eric Skipper (Michelle) of Charlotte, N.C.; one granddaughter, Alex Skipper of New York, N.Y.; one brother, Clyde Odel of Spencer, N.C. Also surviving are several special nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 in Midway Baptist Church, Columbus, N.C. with Rev. Peter McDonald and Rev. William Swink officiating.

Burial will follow in Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring, N.C.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
