Violet Norlean Blair Strode

Violet Norlean Blair Strode, 50, formerly of Murry, Ky., silently passed into the hands of Jesus on Jan. 18, 2016 at her home in Tryon, N.C. due to ongoing health problems.
She was born on March 29, 1965 at Wayne County General Hospital, Detroit, Mich., to Morris H. Blair who preceded her in death in 2014, in Paducah, Ky., and her mother Dorothy F. Manners Blair, formerly of Murray, Ky.
Violet was a double major honor student at MSU majoring in English and Spanish. She also held an Associate of Arts degree. She was a housewife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. Violet was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Murray, Ky. She was an avid reader and a writer.
Violet is survived by her eldest son, Dustin R. Strode, of Murray, Ky., a daughter, Amberly A. Leach, and her husband Dennie Leach of Murray, Ky. and one beautiful grandson, Mason Leach. Also surviving are two sisters Darlene Stone (Mike) of Tryon, N.C. and Valerie Blair, formerly of Murray, Ky., and one precious nephew, Levi Dorsey, formerly of Murray, Ky. In addition, Violet is survived by many aunts and cousins in Tennessee, Michigan and Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Murray Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1408 Sycamore Street, Murray, KY 42071. The eulogy will be given by Pastor Christopher Rollins.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
