Estelle Hubbard Goswick

Estelle Hubbard Goswick, 92, of Columbus, N.C. passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 in White Oak Manor of Tryon.

Born in Polk County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Eva McGuinn Lanning and widow of Hollis Hubbard who died in 1974. She retired from the textile industry and later retired as a CNA. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Clontz, and four brothers, Robert (Leonard), Edwin, Frank and Ralph Lanning.

Surviving is one daughter, Rebecca Foster of Columbus, N.C.; one son, William “Buddy” Herbert (Jean) of Columbus, N.C.; one sister, Edith Case of Columbus, N.C.; four grandchildren, Laura Lynch, Raymond Patterson, Tonya Horton and Tony Priester; and ten great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C. with Rev. David Bame and Rev. Tony Priester officiating.
