Charles B. Moore

Charles Brinton Moore of Landrum, S.C. went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016. Born in Elm Grove, W.Va., he was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Roseanna; father Samuel Cecil Moore; mother Mildreth Amanda Painter; two brothers, Harry Cecil and George Elmer Moore.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War; graduated from Drexel University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree; retired from Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania; was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and the Commander of the Landrum VFW Post #4873 where under his leadership the Veterans Memorial Park in Landrum’s Brookwood Park was completed.

He was a loving father, an active member of his community and an avid animal lover.

Surviving are his children Charles Brinton, Jr. of Cowpens; Bruce Lee of Daytona, Fla.; Cynthia Anne, Harry Cecil and Roseanne Marie, all of Spartanburg, S.C.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother Robert Russell Moore.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Redeemed International Baptist Church, 1000 S. Blackstock Rd., Landrum, S.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Foothills Humane Society, Columbus, N.C.
