A chilly BJ Bayne and Shelby Cash are pictured celebrating their wet accomplishment after the annual Polar Bear Plunge, held Friday, Jan. 1 at Bright’s Creek.  With hot chocolate and hot cider by the fire to warm up before and after the plunge, 40 people took the plunge for the annual fundraiser that benefits the Polk County Sheriff’s Needy Fund, and another 30-40 came out to watch. This fund has been helping those in our community in need of assistance for more than twenty years, and this raised more than $2,400. (Photo submitted by BJ Bayne)
