The Tryon Kiwanis Club and the Polk County Kiwanis Aktion Club teamed up to ring the bell for the Salvation Army on Dec. 12 in front of the Food Lion store in Columbus. Greeting customers by smiling and wishing them “Merry Christmas,” the group was able to raise $416.83 for the Salvation Army to help those in need in Polk and Henderson counties. On Dec. 19, Kiwanians collected $319.09 by manning the kettle in front of the IGA store in Tryon. Tryon Kiwanis Club would like to thank Food Lion and IGA for their cooperation.
