Sons of Confederate Veterans to host division commander Dec. 1

The Polk Volunteers Camp # 919 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans invites you to hear North Carolina Division Commander Daniel Bolick speak at the monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Calvert’s Kitchen on Mills Street in Columbus, N.C.
The group meets the first Tuesday of each month, and loves to have visitors. Spend the evening and enjoy the presentation. Commander Bolick will begin his presentation at 7 p.m. Those wishing to eat, meet around 6 p.m. for your choice/ Dutch meal.
The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Va. in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.
Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces.
