Mr. Gerald Michael Burnett age 57 went to his reward on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 following an extended illness. A native of Rutherford County, Gerald was a retired truck driver and an active member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Street Burnett of the home; his mother Pauline Hudgins Burnett of Polk County, N.C.; one daughter Lorie Burnett of Florence, S.C.; one stepson Robbie Tucker of Wilkesboro, N.C.; one granddaughter Haleigh Tucker of Wilkesboro, N.C.; four brothers Darrel, Wayne, Harold and Jason Burnett all of Polk County, N.C.; two sisters Maxine Kelly and Kathy Martin both of Polk County, N.C. as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his father Glenn Burnett.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at Crowe’s Mortuary Rutherfordton, N.C. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel in Rutherfordton, N.C. with Rev. Jerry Jackson and Rev. Tommy Hutchins officiating. Gerald will be laid to rest with family members in Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grassy Knob Baptist Church.
