The Polk County Appearance Commission is working to make Polk County a better place to visit, work and live. Our appearance focus for this is clean, beautiful and inviting. This article acknowledges and thanks people who are working to keep the roadsides clean and invites more people to adopt and or fund litter pickup.

We personally thank the listed participants, which according to the DOT, are now active in the Adopt A Highway program. If you have an interest in adopting a highway, please call our DOT district office at 828-881-7911. The DOT staff will be happy to guide you through the process. If you would prefer to fund a road cleanup at a cost of $80 to $100 per mile, please contact the Polk County Appearance Commission and we will be happy to assist you.
