Polk County District Court results for Oct. 28

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 153 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Nicholas Scott Baker was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. Baker’s probation was terminated.

Christopher M. Banks was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Banks was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Tammy Lynn Bishop was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Bishop was fined $20 and court costs.

John William Bradley was convicted of level two driving while impaired and two counts of domestic violence protective order violation. Bradley was sentenced to 12 months in jail for driving while impaired and 75 days in jail for domestic violence protective order violation.

Amber R. Burckhalter was convicted of assault on a government official and possession of schedule II controlled substance. Burckhalter was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation and court costs.

David Antonio Canales was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Canales was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Billy Joe Clayton II was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation and driving while impaired. Clayton was sentenced to 60 days in jail for driving while license revoked and 12 months in jail for driving while impaired.

Teresa S. Culbreth was convicted of worthless check simple. Culbreth was sentenced to one day in jail and court costs.

David Andrew Garrett was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Garrett was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Ethan Chase Gaskins was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Gaskins was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Christopher R. Hill was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Hill was to pay court costs.

Patrick Hines was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Hines was fined $40 and court costs.

Christopher J. Lindsey was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Lindsey was fined $50 and court costs.

Calvin Allen Rickman was convicted of speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone. Rickman was fined $80 and court costs.

Justin Dean Ridings was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Ridings was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Julia Dawn Schoren was convicted of simple assault, domestic violence protective order violation and communicating threats. Schoren was sentenced to 24 months supervised probation and court costs.

Donald Finnell Sutton was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation and exceeding safe speed. Sutton was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Joshua Aaron Williams was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Williams was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Jonathan Sosa was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Sosa was fined $40 and court costs.
