Join the Tryon Half Marathon, Nov. 14

Published 11:41 pm Thursday, November 5, 2015

Close to 300 runners representing six states are registered to run 13.1 miles through Polk County on Saturday morning, Nov. 14 at 8 a.m. at the Fourth Annual Tryon Half Marathon. Organizers anticipate even more will sign up race morning. This charity road race, hosted by the Tryon Running Club, will benefit Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry. The club is excited to welcome so many out-of-towners and their families to the Tryon area.

As always, none of this would happen without the generous support of our local sponsors. We have a new Endurance Level Sponsor this year, PRO Physical Therapy.  Come out to the Harmon Field cabin on Friday night from 4-7 p.m. to hear more about what they have to offer.

PRO Physical Therapy will provide information regarding running gait analyses with the ultimate goal of optimizing running performance by addressing inefficient running mechanics, strength deficits, and bony malalignments. A potential solution to optimizing running mechanics may include custom foot orthotic fabrication, another service available at PRO physical therapy at an affordable price. Licensed physical therapists will provide information regarding the benefits of gait analysis and custom foot orthotic fabrication at package pick-up.
