Learn the secrets to marketing your artwork

Tryon Arts and Crafts School has planned an all-day marketing workshop designed to assist artists in the marketing of their work on Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the school located at 373 Harmon Field Rd.

During part one from 10-11:15 a.m., Amy Carroll of Amy Carroll Media Consultant, web designer and on-line marketing guru, will speak on “How to Build a Square Store,” how to connect with customers everywhere and bring your business online with a free online store from Square. Learn how to list your products, create a memorable URL, set up shipping options, personalize your page and more. By the end of class, you will have the foundation to sell your artwork online.

In part two from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Danielle Miller-Gilliam of Danielle Miller Jewelry will speak on “How to Stay on Top at/Sell through Etsy.” Danielle’s session will focus on the ins and outs of selling through an Etsy shop, including: setting up and maintaining your shop, and managing your time on Etsy; proper pricing on Etsy; determining your ideal customer and targeting them; how to stand out and create your niche in the Etsy market; marketing, marketing and more marketing!

In part three from 2-5 p.m. Monica Stevenson will speak on “How to Photograph your Artwork for Publication and Competitions.” Monica is an award-winning commercial photographer, fine artist and director (www.monicastevenson.com) based in New York City and Tryon who will reveal the secrets to photographing all types of crafts including jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, wood, forge – learn it all!  Just bring your artwork to be photographed.
