In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 143 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Gryphen A. Blackwell was convicted of unsafe movement. Blackwell was to pay court costs.
John Lewis Mario Dyer was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Dyer was fined $50 and court costs.
Elizabeth C. Evans was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Evans was fined $40 and court costs.
Mary Sarah Fleischer was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Fleischer was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
William Earl Green was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Green was sentenced to one year supervised probation and court costs.
Shawn Thomas Greene was convicted of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Greene was sentenced to 22 days in jail with credit for time served.
Dezma Michelle Hodge was convicted of backseat seat belt violation. Hodge was fined $100.
Timothy Earl Jones was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Jones was fined $30 and court costs.
Julie Seay Mattison was convicted of simple possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mattison was sentenced to 24 days in jail with credit for time served.
Ashton Elizabeth McClure was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. McClure was fined $50 and court costs.
Clint Wesley McCurry was convicted of two counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor. McCurry was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
Ruth Ann Yoder Miller was convicted of speeding 59 mph in a 50 mph zone. Miller was fined $30 and court costs.
Carlton Vernon Mitchell was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Mitchell was fined $40 and court costs.
Timothy Lee Sain was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Sain was fined $50 and court costs.
Alfred Sellers III was convicted of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Sellers was sentenced to eight days in jail with credit.

Vincent Brady Pope was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Pope was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
William David Sanders was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Sanders was fined $20 and court costs.
Kevin Clark Skikany was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Skikany was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 37 days credit.
