Costanza Knight’s Circus Art Exhibition will be “happening” on Friday, Oct. 30 at The Depot at Millard & Company. From 5-7 p.m., come to an artist’s reception you will never forget. Costanza’s paintings, inspired by a Cirque du Symphony performance in Brevard, N.C., have taken her contemporary figurative artwork in a new direction.
She paints in watercolor and acrylics, and does collage and monotypes. Intense colors are her trademark. Although the content may differ, all her work has one theme in common, that of transcendence. Knight lives in Hendersonville, N.C. She paints out of her studio at 6 Whitehall Lane and has been teaching art for 23 years. Her work is held in private and university collections throughout the country.
At the reception, you may see aerialists and jugglers. Your future could be revealed by a fortune teller. Wear your most inspired divine gown, bowtie, suit or set of tails if you like or come as you are.
A 20 percent donation of all sales will be made to Homes for Youth, a nonprofit organization with the goal of building a licensed facility for homeless teenage girls.
The exhibition will run through Nov. 25. The Depot Room Gallery at 22 Depot St. in Tryon is open during business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
