Fund raising lunch for flood victims

Published 1:52 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015

The employees of White Oak of Tryon are sponsoring a fund raising lunch on Oct. 16 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., on the patio, to assist those employees of White Oak of Columbia who have been severely affected by the recent floods. Everyone in the Tryon area is urged to come by and participate. Everything for the lunch will be donated by the employees of White Oak of Tryon so that 100 percent of the monies raised will go to the White Oak of Columbia facility to be distributed to those in need.

In addition to money, the Tryon employees are donating clothing, shoes, toiletries, sheets and blankets and gift cards for groceries, gas and other items which are needed currently. Everyone is welcome to bring items as well.

Plates will consist of hot dogs or hamburgers with coleslaw, potato salad, chili and all the trimmings. A variety of sweets will be available for dessert, along with soft drinks and water. There will be plates “to go” or enjoy lunch on the patio. We hope to see you there.
