Race for a Cure

To the editor:

As many of you know, my daughter, Stephanie Bolding, was diagnosed 12 years ago with multiple sclerosis at the young age of 20. She has been on a monthly infusion of a drug called Tysabri. Thanks to your support of the MS Society, their research has continued to help others with MS be able to receive the latest drugs on the market who are unable to pay large co-pays and other expenses that so many MS patients could not afford if it were not for the donations to the MS Society. Their volunteers help each and every day with those in need and the help continues to spread with Greenville being the newest area for a small MS Chapter!

Myself, along with 20 other riders from our area, will be joining over 2,000 cyclists in the MS Breakaway To The Beach that will be held at Sunset Beach, N.C. This year we will be riding 200 miles in two days! Many of the riders say this is their favorite ride of the year due to the friendly people we are surrounded by and their families, meeting others with MS and hearing their stories and making lasting memories.

This year our goal is to raise $10,000 as a team effort through donations from friends, family and local businesses. Please help our team by joining in our efforts to fight MS by making a donation, joining as a rider on our team, volunteering for the MS Breakaway to the Beach or just come to the ride Oct. 17 and 18 at Sunset Beach to cheer on our team. If you are mailing a donation, please send it to PO Box 101, Landrum, SC 29356. Any efforts made are greatly appreciated. Please pray for all the Foothills Peddlers as we take on this cycling challenge to help find a cure for multiple sclerosis.
