Class is back in session as of 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17 for Spartanburg District One Schools. Approximately 450 students will pile into O.P. Earle Elementary School in Landrum each day for the 2015-16 school year. Third grade teacher and Landrum High School alumna, Summer Parsons, started the day by reading to her class. This year’s ‘everyday heroes’ theme hopes to inspire students to do extraordinary things as ordinary people. Set in place by Principal Brian Murray, heroes can be spotted throughout the books, learning materials and hall decorations. (Photo by Brandon Shanesy)
