Raymond Lewis Mills

Raymond Lewis Mills, 53, of Columbus, N.C., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Autumn Care in Saluda, N.C. after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Raymond was born on January 8, 1962 and was known for his contagious smile, fun-loving personality and his love for singing. He graduated from Polk Central High School in 1980 and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Mills and Edwene Ward Mills of Columbus, N.C. and a sister, Betty Jean Mills Ford of Columbus, N.C.

Surviving are a son, Collin Mills of Lynn, N.C.; two brothers, Eugene “Butch” Mills, Jr. (Anita) of Columbus, N.C. and George Mills (Karen) of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; one sister, Kathy Mills of Columbus, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside military service will be held at Manus Chapel Methodist Church in Pea Ridge, N.C. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills or MS Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL  33309-2130.
