First graders earn Personal Best art award

Tryon Elementary School held its annual art show Thursday, May 21, in the school’s gymnasium. Students in kindergarten through fifth grades entered their favorite art selection from their year’s work. School and community volunteer judges gave awards for the annual show that is coordinated by art teacher Clara Rogers. The following first graders won the Personal Best award: Front row, from left, Shy’ona Bates, Anneliese Guzman-Mejia, Esmeralda Baltazar-Alviar, and Isaiah Nunez; Second row, Adelyn Pena, Gabriel Troyer, Brilee Stott, and Grayson Smith; Third row, Joseph Corda, Raegan Quinn, Ayana Carson, Noah Harden, Wiley Kay and Avery Twitty.
