Tryon Elementary names new principal

Polk County Schools announced Wednesday that Todd Murphy will be the principal at Tryon Elementary School for the 2015-16 school year.

Mr. Murphy currently serves as the assistant principal at Polk County Middle School but has previous experience as an elementary school principal.
Mr. Ott Sizemore has been the principal at Tryon but has been out this year dealing with health matters. Dr. Mary Margaret Ingle has filled in this year at Tryon during Mr. Sizemore’s absence. Mr. Sizemore will be moving to the District Office upon his return to work.

Mr. Murphy brings a great deal of administrative experience to Tryon Elementary School having previously served on the elementary, middle and high school levels.

“I am excited about Mr. Murphy being at Tryon Elementary for the 2015-16 school year,” said Superintendent Bill Miller. His appointment will allow teachers, parents and students to have consistent quality leadership throughout the 2015-16 school year. I know everyone joins me in welcoming Todd to Tryon Elementary.”
Mr. Murphy will begin his transition from the middle school to Tryon immediately in order to make plans for the upcoming school year.
