Anita Jean Wedthoff

Anita Jean Wedthoff was born on December 2, 1933 and left this life June 5, 2015 after a brief illness.

Jean grew up in Tryon, N.C. surrounded by loving family and friends. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene School and from the University of South Carolina with a computer technology degree.

Jean resided in Brookhaven. She worked in the Atlanta area for over 30 years as a computer system analyst.

Jean was an avid outdoors woman and enjoyed traveling. Her favorite adventures were in her kayak. She loved to picnic with her family on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Jean always brought an eager and sunny attitude to whatever she did. “Death is nothing to be afraid of, it is a natural transition.”

She leaves to carry on her legacy sons Stewart [Beverly] and Francis; grandchildren Jack and Sarah; and also close friends Manette, Laura, and Launa. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Margaret, and sister Dorothy.

There will be a gathering at Jean’s home on Sunday, June 14, from 4-6 p.m., for her Atlanta friends. There will also be a celebration at The Church of the Holy Cross in Tryon, N.C. on June 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. The family will receive guests following the service.
