The 1969 film “Easy Rider” will be shown at the Tryon Fine Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 in the auditorium on the big screen. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for socializing and refreshments.

The last film this season, the independent road film “Easy Rider” struck a chord with audiences and critics alike. It tells the story of two bikers, played by Fonda and Hopper, who travel from California, through the Southwest to New Orleans and on to the South. It also stars Jack Nicholson, Phil Spector and Karen Black. The film received awards at Cannes and Academy award nominations. The music included songs by The Band, Jimi Hendrix, The Byrds, Steppenwolf and Bob Dylan.

This is the final film in TFAC’s 2015 spring series Films of the 1960s. Prior to the movie, the audience can see themselves on the big screen in pictures taken during the series, and there will be an auction for the six movie posters from the series.
