Columbus Police Department arrests two for trafficking methamphetamine

On Saturday May 9, 2015 at approximately 6 p.m., the Columbus Police Department arrested Eric Lee Garber, 40, of Saluda, N.C. and Summer Nicole Nix, 36, of Hendersonville, N.C. during a traffic stop on the off ramp of Interstate 26 east leading to Mills Street in Columbus, N.C.

During the course of the arrest, over three ounces of methamphetamine, over an ounce of marijuana and numerous prescription medications were located in the vehicle, along with assorted paraphernalia.

Garber was charged with two counts of felony trafficking more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, felony conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony conspiracy to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony conspiracy to sell or deliver marijuana, felony maintain a vehicle for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nix was charged with two counts of felony trafficking more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, felony conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony conspiracy to sell or deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony conspiracy to sell or deliver marijuana, two counts of misdemeanor possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Garber was held at the Polk County Jail under a $150,000.00 secured bond. His first court appearance was Monday, May 11, 2015.

Nix was held at the Polk County Jail under a $150,500.00 secured bond. Her first court appearance was Monday, May 11, 2015.
