Landrum Farmers Market opens with new hours, additional vendors

Published 1:49 am Thursday, April 30, 2015

The Landrum Farmers Market opens Saturday, May 2. New hours are from 8 a.m. to noon, although some produce vendors may set up earlier. This year there will be some new, additional food vendors including a restaurant booth. Each week a local restaurant will have a cooking demonstration, handing out samples or selling food items from their menus.

Three new food booths will join the list of regular vendors. Linda’s Bake Shop will offer cheese straws along with chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and molasses raisin cookies.

Bob’s BBQ & Biscuits features breakfast biscuit sandwiches, plus pulled pork sandwiches and baby back ribs. The Lowe Eatery will join the market starting May 30. Their cinnamon rolls, pies, cakes and pastries will tempt your taste buds.

The Landrum market is known for the many local farmers who will be offering their fine fruits and vegetables. A variety of returning vendors will be selling eggs, honey, crafts, farm raised meat, and flowers.

Starting in June, entertainment will be provided by local musicians. Come on down and enjoy the fun.
