Joy Planet Drums will perform a free show at Polk County Public Library on Thursday, April 23at 5:30 p.m. The performance will be held on the Columbus library’s outside deck, weather permitting, and followed by a drumming class led by Therapeutic Drumming Instructor Chris Blalock. Drums are provided or you can bring your own. All ages are welcome, as are beginning learners!

The group brings their beat-filled West African rhythms to Polk County Public Library on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month for a free, instructional, fun-filled, and therapeutic good time! Joy Planet Drums also recently drew an appreciative, moving crowd at Tryon’s Super Saturday festival.

The Friends of the Polk County Public Library will have their book sale in the library’s community room during this time as well. Drop by before or after the drum performance to buy books, CDs, DVDs, and other materials at unbeatable prices.
