Russian Chapel Hills Winery announces grand opening, celebration of Orthodox Easter

Russian Chapel Hills Winery invites the public to its grand opening and Orthodox Easter celebration at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 12. With spring in full bloom, St. Anna Chapel, a 17th-century style Russian chapel in the midst of the vineyard, will be a lovely and welcoming sight from the winery’s tasting room.

Bella Corda, an Asheville string ensemble, will provide live classical music. Food will be available, including traditional Russian pierogis, as well as Russian Chapel Hills’ best wines.

Russian Chapel Hills Winery is owned by Andrey Medvedev who began construction on the winery in 2012. In 2013 the first wine was fermented and construction on St. Anna Chapel began. Today wines bottled there include Merlot, Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Muscadine. Imported wines from the Rioja region of Spain are also sold at the winery.
