Tryon council to hold budget work session April 18
Tryon Town Council has set a special meeting for the purpose of a budget work session on Saturday, April 18 beginning at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Tryon Fire Department meeting room. The public is invited to attend.
TDDA/PCCF to host Tryon: Making a Place May 7
The Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) and Polk County Community Foundation (PCCF) are sponsoring a presentation by Phillip Walker of the Walker Collaborative on Thursday, May 7 at 4 p.m. at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. Walker is an expert small town and Main Street planner. The presentation will be followed by a celebration of Tryon at the Tryon Fine Arts Center Amphitheater.
Polk County sets public hearing for accessory dwelling units
The Polk County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing for Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m. to hear comments regarding amending the county’s zoning ordinance to allow accessory dwelling units. The public hearing will be first on the agenda. The meeting is held in the second floor meeting room of the Womack building in Columbus.
Tryon Council to hold citizen input session on April 21
Tryon Town Council will begin its Tuesday, April 21 meeting at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. to allow time for residents to give opinions on the town’s water and sewer system. Commissioners have specifically said they want opinions on what the town should do in the future concerning its systems, with the examples of selling the system, joining with Polk County and Inman-Campobello Water District (ICWD) or keeping the system within Tryon. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Tryon Fire Department meeting room. Anyone needing special accommodations to Tryon meetings can call the town clerk at 828-859-6655.
