Mac Arnold to play at Overmountain Vineyards for Bud Break BBQ

Published 11:42 pm Thursday, April 9, 2015

It’s official. Spring is here and the vines are coming back to life. Around the vineyard, this is called bud-break and signals the beginning of the growing season, which lasts approximately six months until fall when the fruit of the vine is harvested.

We are excited to kick off the season with our Second Annual Bud Break BBQ, April 25, featuring a very special performance by blues legend Mac Arnold. Before returning back to his native South Carolina to become a farmer, Mac worked with legends such as James Brown, Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, John Lee Hooker, Otis Redding and B.B. King. Now, for special appearances and events, fans around the world flock to see Mac and his band dish up the very best in blues, soul and funk.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to catch one of his shows, you’ll know that his magnetic persona and warm, robust laugh instantly connects with audiences to create fans for life. Watching Mac pull out his gas-can guitars and Max Hightower take over on the harmonica push this over the top concert to a new plateau. Combine this with the scenery of Overmountain Vineyards outdoor views of vines and sunsets over the Foothills and it’s sure to be an evening not to miss!

We will have food trucks on site for your dining pleasure and Overmountain Vineyards wines will be sold by the glass or bottle. Overmountain will also be unveiling their new hard cider which will be available for purchase by the glass. The event will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 and tickets are available through Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.com ) or at Overmountain Vineyards.
