The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chesnee, S.C. man this week after finding him in possession of stolen goods from a Green Creek area residence.
Casey Ray Robinson, 28, was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny, according to sheriff reports.
The sheriff’s office received a report of a breaking and entering along Chesnee Highway in Green Creek on March 27.
Items reported stolen included two four-wheelers, a dryer, a lawn mower, iron rods and a metal desk.
Detectives began following up on leads and received information that some of the items stolen were being scrapped at a South Carolina recycling business.
Investigators visited the recycling business and discovered some of the items that had been stolen.
The sheriff’s office identified Robinson as a primary suspect in the case. Detectives were familiar with Robinson and canvassed locations where Robinson was known to be and located him in Chesnee. Once located, the sheriff’s office found Robinson in possession of the two four-wheelers. Robinson was taken into custody by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Robinson is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center where he is awaiting extradition to Polk County. Robinson has a criminal history of burglary and larceny, according to the Polk sheriff’s office.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recovered most of the stolen items.
