Paul W. Zeese

Paul W. Zeese, 87, of Tryon, N.C. (formerly of Florida, N.Y.) passed away quietly on March 20, 2015 at Seneca Place Skilled Nursing facility in Louisville, Ky. He was born July 31, 1927 in Syracuse, N.Y.

Paul was predeceased by his beloved and cherished wife, Dolores A. Zeese. He is survived by his loving daughters, Holly L. Zeese of Hayes, Va.; Paulette Zeese and husband David McDowell of Louisville, Ky.; Val Zeese and husband Steve Golemboski of Rensselaer, N.Y.; and Jennifer Zeese and husband Brian Mahan of Walden, N.Y. He is also survived by his loving stepdaughters, Vicki Edwards and husband Dean of Unionville, N.Y.; and Kristina Pyle and husband Michael of Sydney, N.Y. He was predeceased by stepdaughter Barbara Dallas of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Most of Paul’s adult life was spent in the printing and corrugated business, working in many different facets of the industries. He loved his work and kept at it until finally retiring in 2010 at age 83 after 35 years in sales for Dicar Industries of Pine Brook, N.J.

Paul was a Navy veteran of WWII and active in the American Legion belonging to posts both in Orange County, N.Y. and Polk County, N.C. He was a Shriner in the Masons also belonging to lodges in both states.  In addition, he was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club in Tryon, N.C. Paul was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warwick, N.Y. and a 22 year member of Church of the Holy Cross in Tryon, N.C.

Paul was very active in community outreach programs in and around Polk County, N.C. He was a devoted family man who will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and amazing sense of humor.

Cremation is being arranged by Highlands Funeral Home in Louisville and a Requiem Mass is being planned to be held at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, 150 Melrose Avenue, Tryon, N.C.
