Polk County Schools announces snow make up days

Polk County Schools announced this week its new school calendar following missing five days in February for snow and ice.

Students in all schools will make up those days today, Friday March 6 and Monday, March 9, which were previously scheduled as teacher work days.

Another two days will be made up on Good Friday, April 3 and another scheduled work day on April 27.

Polk County Schools Superintendent Bill Miller announced the make up days by a recorded phone call to parents on Tuesday, March 3. Miller said there is still one day students need to make up and that decision will be made at a later date.

Polk County students are scheduled to be out of school on Wednesday, June 10 this year and scheduled for Spring Break the week of April 6-10. Students were previously to be out for Spring Break beginning on Friday, April 3.
