Frances Hurst

Frances Hamlin Hurst, 77, of Columbus, N.C., died peacefully on Feb. 21, 2015, in the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum, S.C.
Born August 15, 1937 in Mars Hill, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robinson and Queenie Hamlin. She was loved by everyone who met her, especially her family.
Surviving are: a daughter, Regina Burgess (Mark) of Columbus, N.C.; three grandchildren, Stephen Burgess of Columbus, N.C., Chelsea Darley (Will) of Hendersonville, N.C., and Amy Howell of Kingsport, Tenn.; a great granddaughter, Megan Parvin of Kingsport, Tenn.; a sister, Lucille McLaughlin of Weaverville, N.C. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hurst; two sons, Stephen Roberts and Christopher Roberts; a sister, Dorothy Roberts, and a brother, Edward Hamlin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, in the Highwood Apartments Community Building, Columbus, N.C.
