Elouise May Hart Phelps

Elouise May Hart Phelps, age 80, died on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at Park Ridge Hospital. Elouise was preceded in death by her father Chester Hart and mother Frances Harbaurgh and her loving husband Malcolm L. Phelps.
Mrs. Hart was born in Muncie, Ind. but has lived in Hendersonville since 1967. She was very active with her church, the Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church, and she loved her volunteer work at the Saluda Elementary School. She was known by all the children as simply “grandma.”
Elouise and Malcolm were blessed with two of their own children: son Kevin L. Phelps of Columbus, N.C. and daughter Karen Sentelle and her husband Daniel of Edneyville, N.C. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Jeremy T. Sherman and wife Denise of Landrum, S.C., Charles M. Sentelle and wife Sarah of Edneyville, N.C. and Haley D. Phelps of East Flat Rock, N.C. Elousie had six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Shepherd Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at 5045 Asheville Hwy., Hendersonville, N.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the Mausoleum Chapel. The Reverend Kevin Travis will be officiating. The following will be serving as pallbearers: Joel Stepp, David Johnson, Jeremy Sherman, Ben Ringer, Wayne Weary, and Kris Whetmore.
